Extended Trips
Each grade level at CSS participates in two overnight trips during the school year, one shorter trip and an extended one. These trips vary from year to year and last from two to six days. The amazing trips experiences by our students include the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, Camp Sweet, Camp Goldeye at Nordegg, Fort Steele, Southern Alberta Cultural Tour, Northern Alberta Cultural Tour and Grade 8 Circle Tour. The purpose of these trips is to engage our students in learning outside of the classroom while investigating nature, exploring history and enjoying new experiences.

Day Trips
Throughout the school year, our students also leave the school yard on many day trips to local facilities and areas that enhance our inquiry-based program. Our proximity to the Weaselhead natural area allows our students the opportunity to visit a thriving wilderness area by foot. We visit a long list of locations within and outside of the city such as Kananaskis Country, the Calgary Science Centre, various parks, the city dump, Chinatown and the Calgary Zoo.
