What happens when students finish at CSS? Where do they go?

Our students go to any number of high schools in the city, including CBE high schools, Calgary Separate School Division high schools, private schools and, in some cases, they move to other charter schools that offer a high school program

How do CSS students typically do when they enter high school?

Our students are constantly coming back to us to visit and share with us their stories of the transition to high school. In almost all cases, the stories are very positive ones, with students well prepared to accept the academic challenges of high school, and eager to take advantage of the opportunities that a large high school affords them. We are currently in the midst of a research study, tracking CSS students into high school. Stay tuned to our website for further details as the study is completed.

Is CSS thinking of expanding into a high school program?

At this time, no. At one point our Board of Directors commissioned a study to investigate whether there would be adequate support for a CSS high school program and, at the time, there was not adequate support. What we have found is that our students are eager to move into a large high school to take advantage of the incredible opportunities that can only be provided in such a setting. Having said that, this issue may come up again.
