Lorrie teaches art at CSS.  Ms. Emin studied at the University of Alberta completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art & Design before pursuing a Bachelor of Education with a focus in art education.  While art is Lorrie’s first love, she has taught a variety of subjects through the years.  She began her career with Edmonton Public School Board teaching art and science.  After moving to Calgary, Lorrie taught humanities and science with Rocky View School Division.  When an opportunity arose to teach humanities in CBE’s Teaching and Learning Through the Arts program, she jumped at the opportunity to bring more of her passion for the arts into the classroom.  Lorrie left teaching in 2006 to move to Central Mexico where she was able to experience living in a different culture.  After many adventures, including running from a landslide in the Sierra Madre Mountains, she returned to Canada and was excited to join the amazing staff and students at CSS in the capacity of art teacher. This is Lorrie’s second year at CSS and she continues to be amazed and impressed by the creativity of the students here.  Her greatest hope is that she can pass on her love of art to all of her students by encouraging and supporting their creativity.
